Mariachi Herencia De Mexico Dayton Concert reviews
Chris Isaak - Outstanding Energy and Performance
I have enjoyed Mariachi Herencia De Mexico since I first listened to "Wicked Game" in 1990, but I had never witnessed his live performance. Musically, Mariachi Herencia De Mexico is a blend of classic crooner and rocker, reminiscent of Elvis. At one point, I found myself thinking he resembled Roy Orbison, although more attractive, and then he surprised me with a fantastic rendition of Orbison's iconic 'Pretty Woman.' His range as a guitarist and singer was truly remarkable. His band, who have been playing together for a long time, was exceptional and their seamless performance was a delight. The percussionist stood out as particularly extraordinary. During the show, he was engaging, humorous, and full of energy - he even ventured into the audience while singing 'Love Me Tender,' before dashing up the stairs to the balcony where we were seated. It was a fun and fantastic way to connect with the audience. What amazed me the most was that this was their final concert of a three-month tour, yet they delivered a lively and joyful performance that lasted over two hours. Thank you for the excellent show, Chris!
